Description: Microsoft Internet Explorer could allow a remote attacker to execute code on the system, caused by an invalid pointer reference error.  Active attacks on this vulnerabiltiy have been found in wild as reported by Google and Microsoft earlier this week.

Web exploit toolkits are notorious for targeting browser and browser-related exploits such as this vulnerability.  This vulnerability is reported to have been involved in the high profile attacks on Google and at least 20 other large companies.  Please see references below.

Compromise of machines may lead to exposure of confidential information, loss of productivity, and further compromise. An attacker would need to entice a user to click a link to trigger this vulnerability.

Technical Description:

Microsoft Internet Explorer could allow a remote attacker to execute code on the system, caused by an invalid pointer reference error. By persuading a victim to visit a specially-crafted Web page, a remote attacker could exploit this vulnerability to access an invalid pointer to a deleted object to execute arbitrary code with the privileges of the victim.
